Yoga therapy
Contrary to regular yoga, the focus here is not on alignment or doing the yoga poses well in a particular way. Instead, you are invited to explore what it is like to connect to your body. This can be challenging for some people who are (complex) trauma survivors. Therefore the focus lies on choice, invitational language, and interoception (feeling into bodily sensations). For example, you always have a clear choice whether or not to enter a yoga form and, if so, how you embody that form.
These one-to-one sessions are tailored to your individual needs. Where needed, I draw upon my training in yoga therapy for mental health, restorative yoga, yoga philosophy, sound healing, polyvagal theory and acceptance, and commitment therapy (ACT) to supplement the TCTSY method. Together we examine what can support you on your journey toward holistic well-being. This can be a helpful body-based addition to verbal types of psychotherapy.

Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) was developed based on scientific research, especially for people with complex trauma. These private sessions are based on the trauma-sensitive yoga method developed by the Trauma Center in Massachusetts. Below is a video on TCTSY by the researchers who created the method.
